In my work, I establish a dialogue between the digital image and the cross stitch.
The two images are made of the same unit: the point, which is the basis of several image types such as photography, drawing.
Embroidery is part of domestic/family environment and all the emotional charge related to those images interests me. The apparent conflict between the digital image and embroidery evokes reflection on the creation of the image and its origin.
In my process I dismembers embroidery patterns and I rearranges them according to criteria defined by me (chromatic order). In this process, what interests me is the potential for the creation of an image.
When I bring embroidery to the world of contemporary art, I want to generate a discussion on the threshold between art and crafts by using a imagistic directory of crafts and traditional art media like painting and drawing.
